About
the Foundation
The Keira Grace Foundation, based in Gainesville, Florida, was created
by Drs. Michael and Eileen Lauzardo to help improve the state
of care for children’s cancer patients in developing countries.
This foundation was formed in January 2004 at the time of death of
the Lauzardos daughter, Keira Grace (please see Founder’s
Story). A partnership has been developed between this foundation
and the pediatric oncology departments of the University of Florida,
University of Colorado, and the National Pediatric Hospital in Santo
Domingo, Dominican Republic. The goals of this partnership include
raising funds to build treatment facilities, improving medical training,
and increasing access to all the support necessary to diagnose and
treat childhood cancers in developing countries.
